Archdiocese of Iraq and Russia: H.B. Mar Gewargis Sliwa arrives in Iran, meets Iranian President

Tehran -- Deputy of the leader of the Assyrian Church of the East Metropolitan Mar Gewargis Sliwa arrived here Monday to attend a meeting on dialogue among different religion.

The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported that during his week-long stay in Iran, the Metropolitan will also hold separate meetings with a number of Iranian political and cultural officials.
 
The Assyrian cleric is to take part in the first joint meeting of the Iranian center for dialogue among different religions and Assyrians which is to be held later this week to discuss coexistence between Muslims and Assyrians, IRNA reported.
 
Sliwa who was elected as the deputy to Patriarch Mar Dinkha IV of the Assyrian Church of the East since 1981, is the Metropolitan of the Middle East and Russia.
